"Body by Hayley Pilates is a terrific and important part of my life. The mat Pilates routines have made me stronger, more flexible, put my body in balance, and cured my lower back issues. Hayley has been a gifted and charming Pilates instructor for a decade. She pays great attention to her class members and calls out individual corrections. She provides modifications for virtually every movement to accommodate people at all ability levels. Hayley’s classes are so enjoyable and are ridiculously affordable. I’ve been doing Body by Hayley Pilates for 5 years, and I look forward to the next 5 years!"
— Richard Greenberg
"Hayley Meier’s Body by Hayley Pilates classes, and Hayley Meier herself, were the primary factors that enabled me to navigate the Covid epidemic—without a doubt. I do not know what I would have done without her and this wonderful work. I began Pilates classes with Hayley at the inception of her online practice in March of 2020. It has been five wonderful years of work—intelligent, brilliantly-crafted classes every week, always delivered with care, anatomically-rigorous guidelines, and humor when needed! The work is tough, but so valuable, and I could not have wished for a more gifted teacher and now, good friend, to guide me on this journey."
— Amy Ernst
"I’m so grateful for Body by Hayley Pilates! I’ve been taking Hayley’s classes for over five years, and I’ve never felt stronger or more flexible. She has a way of guiding us to slow down, focus on each movement, and really work every muscle. Most importantly, each class is challenging for every fitness level. Hayley creates such a positive, motivating environment that I always feel encouraged to push just a little further toward my goals."
— Tanya Reichfeld
Pilates aligns the mind, body, & soul in a way that is empowering and restorative. Recognized for its focus on core strength and breathing, Pilates internalizes movement, working the body from the inside out. It is a low-impact, mindful workout that promotes health, awareness, & longevity.
Yes! Pilates is accessible to all levels, and exercises can be modified based on your needs and abilities. You're never too "out of shape" to start. I tailor each class, beginning with the most remedial exercise and then working towards advancing it to different degrees.
Pilates can support weight loss and muscle toning, especially when combined with other healthy habits. It builds lean, functional strength and improves posture. Personally, a consistent Pilates practice has helped me lead a healthier lifestyle and make more mindful choices in my everyday life.
For mat Pilates, a mat is all you need to get started. Props like bands, balls, or rings can add variety, but they’re not required. I always try to accommodate those who don’t have fancy props by using household alternatives — we get creative!
Most people see and feel a difference with 2–3 sessions per week, depending on their goals. Consistency is key. But remember, everything worth doing takes time. Put in the work, and you will see and feel the results both mentally and physically.
Often yes — especially when guided by a qualified instructor. Pilates is known for being gentle on the joints and adaptable for rehab and recovery. However, you must always follow the guidance of your doctors and be cleared to do Pilates and other physical activity first.
Yes! It strengthens, stabilizes, and aligns your entire body. Many people use Pilates as their primary form of movement, while others complement it with cardio and/or strength training. Personally, I like finding a balance between practicing it all on a regular basis.
